Rogue Nebula is an 80s-styled, synthwave arcade shooter and station-builder for mobile, set in a shared living universe that keeps running whether you're online or not. It's two games in one: a strategy game where you run a station, mine ore and build a drone fleet — and a fast, ferocious arcade dive where one little combat drone earns everything the station spends.
The Story
You are part of The Frontier Collective — humans tasked with exploring space to find resources. A few years ago the Collective stumbled on a nebula in deep space, pulsing with immense energy signals. Naturally, they followed them. They called it the Rogue Nebula: neon glow everywhere, and a network of ancient factories producing Ore — an unknown element that, with the right processing, can be transformed into anything.
But the nebula is controlled by an AI — the Custodian — and once you are in, there is no way out. The only way is toward the Core.
After years of humans looting factories and hunting the harmless ore-eating mold, the Custodian had enough. It began cloning the pilots the nebula had already claimed — the captured and the fallen — and set the Clones loose as its own fleet of bounty hunters, commanded by the Warden. This is where you come in — a rookie station commander, trying to survive.
The Guardians
The deeper you push, the bigger they get. Dozens of guardians hold the gates between you and the Core — here are a few of the friendlier ones:
Pyre
Rains sticky fire and doesn't care where you were standing.
The Gearlord
Rockets, mines, more rockets. Then the barrage starts.
Broodmother
You can't hurt her while her brood lives. Good luck.
The Revenant
Teleports around the arena and shoots where you were.
The Swarm
Between the guardians, the lanes crawl with the Custodian's machines — mine-layers, blink-skimmers, hull-leeches, kamikaze sacs, swarm wasps. Every one of them wants your scrap. Most of them drop it.
What you'll do
- Live in a galaxy that doesn't wait for you — while you sleep, your miners keep chewing ore, your rivals keep expanding, and the mold keeps eating. Log back in and the map has moved.
- Fight the clones — copies of pilots the nebula already took, flying for the Custodian like pirates paid in ore. They run stations, scheme, expand, and talk trash on the open channel — and every one of them remembers what you did to it.
- Dive for loot — quick, white-knuckle arcade runs into Custodian space. Dodge everything, blow up everything else, and drag the haul home before your hull gives out.
- Chase the good drops — guns, shields, cores and rare hulls fall out of the fights. Roll them, upgrade them, enhance them, and bolt the best of it onto your favorite drone.
- Explore & research — send scouts into the fog, plant beacons, crack open mold pearls, and burn your ore on research that pushes your reach deeper toward the Core.
- Soak in the synthwave — hard pixels, neon glow, CRT scanlines and an 80s arcade heart.
